Trainer/Documentation Specialist – Remote
Avetus Partners, a leading DC-based Information Technology company, is seeking a detail-oriented Trainer/Documentation Specialist to enhance user adoption and operational efficiency through effective training programs and high-quality technical documentation for an Online Application in the Federal Government. This role is pivotal in empowering both internal teams and clients to maximize the value of IT solutions and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Training Development & Delivery
- Design, develop, and deliver engaging training sessions, workshops, and webinars for end-users and technical staff on IT systems, software applications, and best practices.
- Assess training needs, gather feedback, and continuously update materials to reflect evolving technologies and user requirements.
- Create user-friendly guides, tutorials, and e-learning modules to support ongoing education and onboarding.
- Documentation Creation & Management
- Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive technical documentation, including user manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), FAQs, and knowledge base articles.
- Collaborate with IT teams, subject matter experts, and project managers to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in all documentation.
- Implement documentation standards and version control practices to ensure accessibility and reliability.
- Support & Continuous Improvement
- Serve as a resource for users seeking clarification or additional training on IT solutions.
- Gather user feedback to identify gaps in training or documentation and recommend improvements.
- Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in training and technical writing.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Communications, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in technical training, instructional design, or technical writing within an IT environment.
- Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly language.
- Proficiency with documentation and e-learning tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, Adobe Acrobat, Camtasia, Articulate).
- Excellent presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate materials.
- Must be a US Citizen
Preferred Attributes
- Experience developing training for Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with ITIL, Agile, or other IT service management frameworks.
- Certification in instructional design, technical writing, or related areas is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
