Antonio Alicea Jr. (Tony) is a seasoned leader in healthcare information technology and training, with over 30 years of experience spanning the U.S. Navy, government agencies, and the private sector. Tony has served as Director of Human Resources at Avetus, a member of the Partners & Networks Team at IT Concepts, where he led outreach and onboarding efforts for new partners joining the eHealth Exchange, supporting the secure sharing of health data with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Throughout his career, Tony has managed communications and training for hundreds of hospitals, clinics, and health information exchanges, guiding them through complex onboarding processes and ensuring seamless integration with national health data networks. His expertise includes clinical informatics, human resources management, and instructional design, having supported over 300 users as a Clinical Informatics Specialist and supervised global training initiatives for the Defense Medical Human Resources Internet program.
Tony’s professional journey began with two decades of distinguished service in the U.S. Navy Military Healthcare System, where he supervised large teams, developed curriculum, and managed critical safety and medical record programs. He is recognized for his ability to bridge the gap between technical and human elements, delivering impactful training and fostering collaboration across diverse teams.
He holds a B.S. in Workforce Education & Development from Southern Illinois University and an A.A. in Human Services from Niagara County Community College. He is Security+ certified, a Master Training Specialist, and highly proficient in Spanish.
